Abruzzo National Park (lately named Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park) was established in 1921 and opened in the following year. It is one of the oldest parks in Italy, just after Gran Paradiso Park. It has been awarded several times with the European Diploma for natural reserves. The park offers its visitors the possibility of a whole range of different excursions: from easy walks along the paths to climbing the highest peaks. There are more than 150 itineraries of different levels, a dozen of them are along the Giovenco Valley and on the mountains which surround it. So, trekking… but not only trekking!
