Gemma Hotel is located in the heart of Giovenco valley, close to Abruzzo National Park North entrance,  about 15 kms far from Pescasseroli ski resort.
Famous for its thermal waters, San Sebastiano dei Marsi also boasts a long history which dates back to the Middle Ages. Actually this small but lively town had always had an important role in Celano county: five churches, a monumental fountain are the remains of its glorious past. Moreover parts of  its XIX century ironworks and the ruins of its electric plant (among the first ones to be used in the region) can still be admired.  In 1997 a Nature Museum has been opened: born as the Museum of Insects, it has lately been dedicated to the park big and small wildlife (from insects to bears, from deers to roes), in other words to all those animals who live in the valley and across the whole natural reserve.
